Stop and Make Sure You Enjoy Easter

Easter Eggs

The two biggest Sundays of the year for Churches and Ministers are Christmas and Easter. They are the two biggest because they  are the two most important events in history of the world! Because most of the world celebrate these world changing events, they tend to be the most attended Church services of the year.

Considering that these are the two biggest events in the Christian calendar, that makes these huge opportunities for Churches to reach and minister to the community. However, with these great opportunities comes great sacrifices for ministers and volunteers. There is often a lot more work associate with these two days which also means a lot of extra stress doing a variety of special events and projects.

It's easy to get wrapped up into the events and projects that you forget about what Easter is all about. It is easy to do. So, let's take time to remember what Easter is all about.

1 Corinthians 15:55 says "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting"

Romans 5:8  - “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Easter is about God's love for us. It is about His forgiveness. It is about hope, grace and sacrifice. It is about so much more than we can comprehend. Sit and take time to reflect on Jesus and that HOPE you have in Him today.

Don't let the egg hunt, resurrection eggs, Easter motion graphic, or video clip distract you from what Easter is all about.

If you are feeling stressed out and overworked know that you are not alone. But also know that Jesus wants to take care of you. In fact, in Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Notice that he doesn't say work, work, and work some more. He says to come to Him if you labor and are heavy laden and He will give you rest. He will give you rest for your souls.

During Easter you are going to work more hours than normal. But that doesn't mean you have to wok so much that your family and your mental health suffers. That is why this Easter, make sure you take time to...

  • Enjoy the service. What is done is done. Implement your plan and let it happen.
  • Enjoy time with your family. Easter is a great time to take pictures, do egg hunts, have a family meal together and talk about Jesus. Make sure you don't miss out on family memories.
  • Remember the power of the Resurrection. There is so much power in the resurrection. Rest in that power in the lives of others and you!

God is the one who changes hearts. Work hard but rest in His power. In addition, make sure you rest your soul and enjoy time with your family. You won't have opportunities with your family forever. Rest, relax and make memories with them this Easter season.
