How to Share about Jesus and Your Faith Online

We have made so much progress with technology over the past 20 years. What seemed Jetson-ish back then is happening today. For instance, we now have daily video calls on small devices that can connect people all over the world. We have self-driving cars, robot vacuum cleaners, homes that will automatically heat or cool by simply speaking a command phrase. And, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more technological advancements coming our way.

When Christ called his disciples to go reach the ends of the earth and share the gospel in Matthew 28:19-20, people had to physically go to those places. Those places could take months to get to and lots of financial help to support the work. We called these people Missionaries. Now, however, with the help of technology, people can reach the ends of the earth with a smartphone or internet connection. People have the opportunity to share about Christ across many different digital platforms in a variety of different ways. We call these people Digital Missionaries.

While technology enables Digital Missionaries to reach people with the gospel, how do you share the gospel online?  There are many different ways you can do this, but I am thankful for the book "Sharing Jesus Online" by Dr. John Harris and Jeff Reed is out now so that more people can learn how to share about Jesus and their faith online. Dr. John Harris and his wife launched Hearts Like His, an online discipleship community on Facebook that reaches people across the U.S. and several other nations. He is a mentor to digital church planters and has a passion for digital discipleship. Jeff Reed led his first Online Bible Study in June 2000 and has been doing digital ministry for decades. He founded theChurch.Digital in 2018 and now serves as the Director of Metaverse Church NEXT for Leadership Network.

This book is designed to help everyday believers share their faith online. In this book, they cover everything what some misconceptions are of digital ministry, how to overcome some insecurities we may have about sharing our faith, and, most importantly, they share the different ways you can share, step by step. In addition, they discuss the importance of prayer, enjoying shared experiences together digitally, serving others and more. It is a fantastic training manual for everyone who would like to learn how to share their faith and about Jesus online.Even if you are a Minister looking to raise up Digital Missionaries at your Church, then this book would be a perfect support for those missionaries to get started. Either way, this book is the perfect book for your online ministry collection. Get your copy today!

What do you think? What ways have shared your faith online effectively?  Share your ideas below or on social media.

Through the Digital Church Network we are helping physical and digital churches better understand the discipleship process, and helping churches and church planters understand this and other decentralized mindset shifts. Joining the DCN is free and be encouraged!
