Before Covid hit, there were still plenty of Churches that did not have an online giving platform or option for their Church attendees. However, that has mostly changed. In today's world, online giving is becoming more of the norm for many churches. Offering convenient online donation options can benefit both your members and further the work of your ministry.

While there has been lots of progress in this area, there are still some Churches on the fence about whether or not you should have an online giving platform. If so, here are some reasons why your church should.

Meet People Where They Are

For many people who attend your Church, especially younger generations, managing finances digitally is the norm. People way with their phones all the time and use bill payment systems to pay bills even more today than ever before. That is why when you enable online giving options it helps align your Church with how everyone already conducts business and engage with organizations. Providing an online giving platform makes donating easily accessible for more people.

Give People Flexibility

With today's busy schedules, people will appreciate the flexibility of being able to donate to your Church anytime they want or whenever they think about it from their computer or mobile device. Donating online is common these days and fits seamlessly into today's lifestyles, allowing people to give intentionally and regularly even when they can't make it to a Sunday service.

Various Donation Access Points

In addition to giving through your church website, there are other popular platforms that people use and are comfortable with. Find out which giving platforms people at your Church use and utilize them. The more donation access points you provide, the simpler contributing can be for people at your Church.

Enables Recurring Donations

With an online giving platform, you enable attendees to set up recurring weekly, monthly or annual donations taken directly from their account or credit card. This promotes consistent stewardship and helps the church budget reliably. Attendees appreciate the convenience of not needing to remember to give each week. They can simply click "recurring donation" and know that they will be consistently giving.

Provides Helpful Data Points

A key benefit for Churches in having an online giving platform is having the ability gaining access to data like trends in giving, attendee engagement and activity. Being able to monitor online analytics can provide insights on opportunities to improve the giving experience and share stories of impact that inspire continued generosity.

Conclusion

There are clear advantages of adding online giving platform for your Church. in our increasingly cashless society. Not only does online giving options make it easier for attendees to consistently gives, but it also enables those who are ill, traveling, or otherwise unable to attend in person to still participate. Most importantly, providing a variety of online giving allows members to give cheerfully as an act of worship. For all these reasons, churches should implement online giving options for today's world.
