How do we reach the estimated 3 billion video gamers for Christ? Great question, which sets up the focus of Season 4 of The Church Digital Podcast: “Jesus, Gamers, and Church.”
In Season 4, we’re deep diving into Gamer Culture, into Nerd Culture, and a better understanding of how they think and how we can take Jesus, and the Church, into that culture. The challenge is not to force gamers to think like the church. The challenge will be to contextualize the church for gamers.
This is why, for our season opener, we’re bringing in Mark Lutz from Lux Digital Church into the conversation. For the past year, Mark has been the lead pastor of Lux, a church that aims to reach Gamers for Christ. Through Twitch Church Services and discipleship via the Discord platform, Mark is a pioneer in reaching different types of people via different methods of discipleship in different environments.

ABOUT Mark Lutz
Mark is the lead and founding pastor of Lux Digital Church. He lives in and has pastored outside of Pittsburgh, PA since 2010 and in March of 2021 he and his family decided to start an entirely online church in the gaming community. He has two daughters named Brooklyn and Aria and spends most of his free time gaming and spending time with his family. Mark is passionate about reaching people that would rather go to Hell than come to church and he believes that many of them can only be reached through the screen that's in front of them for hours every day.
