Two Different Types Of Facebook Ads for Your Ministry to Try

Written by Tom Pounder | Jan 3, 2024 11:00:00 AM

Facebook Ads are a really important tool for people, businesses and Churches to get the word out about an event or opportunity coming up. In fact, Facebook Ads are a primary way to promote an event as organic reach on Facebook is very little today. Because of the effectiveness of Facebook Ads, what if you thought outside the box a little for a different kind of ad..

What if, instead of promoting an event, you promoted a faith growing opportunity for people? For instance, what if you created a an Ad for asking for prayer? Asking for prayer can open up meaningful ministry opportunities.

Prayer Ads:

There are a lot of people who are hurting in the world today, but they don't have a faith community to go to for prayer or support. That is why you creating and sharing a Facebook Ad where you ask people to share their prayer requests with you gives you an opportunity to minister to them.

How it Works:

  • When they see your ad, they will click on the link and share a request via email or Facebook Messenger. Have that email or Messenger account be a dedicated minister who will be the person responsible for praying for people.
  • Then, when the person responsible for responding, sees the request, take time to record an audio response and send it back to them. This should be done within 12-24 hours. While you can write out a prayer to someone, recording an audio response is best because it show people that you took time to actually pray for them.

  • When you send the prayer back, send the audio but also type up a little note saying who you are. and a possible next step for them in their faith journey.

In addition to asking for people to submit prayer requests, another great ministry opportunity to point people to digital discipleship opportunities.

Digital Discipleship Ads:

While it would be great for people to be involved in a faith community (in-person or online), there are times when they are not connected. Because of this, your Church has a great opportunity to connect with people and encourage them in their faith.

How it Works:

  • You create digital discipleship content such as devotionals, Bible studies, faith stories via podcast and other discipleship opportunities
  • Put all this content on a landing page on your website as a central location for people to be encouraged in their faith.
  • When people get to your page they can sign up for the different Bible studies, devotionals or podcasts you have. Create a sign up form for them to get this information and you can encourage them further.

Conclusion

Facebook Ads are very useful in getting the word out to people. After all, they are targeted, cost-effective and you can track results easily. However, setting up a Facebook Ad where you ask people to submit their prayer request or go to a discipleship landing page can be so effective and powerful as you have an opportunity to encourage people in their faith. Use these opportunities and see how God uses it to help others in their faith.
