EP245 - Your Digital Church's Local Missions Department

Faith without works is dead!

How many times have you heard that challenge towards the idea of digital churches and digital ministry? James 2 isn’t wrong, of course. But it doesn’t have to apply to Digital Churches. “Jeff, how do you serve people digitally?” Well, have we got an opportunity for you.

Realizing that digital is not the abandonment of gathering, but instead the opportunity to birth new gatherings… what if we applied that same philosophy to serving? What if we could equip our people to serve in their physical community, regardless of where they are located? What if digital church could impact single moms, sex trafficking, foster care and battle hunger in communities across the planet!?

Enter Panos and Robert from One More Child

It is an organization who is decentralizing training that is set up to help churches like yours move our digital consumers to a place of serving in their community. Let’s start to explore the idea of using our digital church or digital ministry to create missional connections and service opportunities globally using digital. Dive into this podcast with Jeff and One More Child, and let’s start serving the community via digital!

Panos Kourtesis serves as National Director of Partnerships for One More Child. One More Child, established in 1904, is an international organization that provides Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families. This includes serving foster children, hungry children, trafficked children, children of single moms, and families in need of support.

Panos has a passion for equipping, resourcing, and connecting churches to serve children and families in their own communities. Panos considers his graduate education, ministry experience, and life experiences as blessings that have equipped him to make a difference locally, nationally, and globally through living a life with a passion for compassion. He and his wife Sarah were part of the launching of a new church plant in Miami called Reality Church Miami, where he is currently serving on the executive leadership team.

Robert Zarahn is the Executive Director of Initiatives for One More Child. In this role he oversees the “Every Child Every City Initiatives” to reach children and families around the country and the globe. These initiatives include helping foster families, mentoring single moms, feeding hungry children, fighting child sex trafficking, and global child sponsorship. Before serving in this role, he served as the Senior Director of Foster Care.

He has a total of 18 years working at non-profit organizations. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Counseling from the Baptist College of Florida, he went on to obtain a Master of Education from Troy University.
