Technology is always changing and evolving. And, it is changing at a very rapid pace. Online ministry is based in technology. And, because of this, online ministry is always evolving and updating. To help keep you updated on all the latest trends in social media, live stream, digital discipleship and all things online ministry, The Church Digital Podcast Network strives to bring in Church Leaders and Ministry Experts to share about all things digital and online ministry so that ministry leaders can be encouraged in their online ministry efforts.

For the month of January, here are 5 Online Ministry insights and lessons learned from some of the podcasts released on The Church Digital Podcast Network. Make sure

PODCASTS enable you to REACH and CONNECT with people in between Sundays.

In Jeff Reed's discussion with Patrick Miller from "Ep248 - Patrick Miller, Podcasting, and the Role of Content in Digital Discipleship" episode, Patrick shares how they released 365 podcasts last year. They weren't all 1 singular podcast but they multiple ones reaching multiple audiences. They started by identifying needs of their congressional and made a podcast about it. But, it wasn't just them podcasting. They had people in their Church do it. Hear all about it and how it is effectively reaching their community and growing their Church here

Disciples ARE making disciples in VR.

In the January 13th Metaverse Church Podcast, Goose shares how one of the biggest wins in VR has been that disciples are, in fact, living out the great commission in VR. Goose and Stuart also look into the different VR platforms, including a deeper dive into Altspace VR. They get into what is good and not so good about the space. Check out the episode, "Deep Dive into VR Chat" here.

Work to IMPROVE rather than CUT your Online Ministry.

Because online ministry is always changing, it can be easy to have success one day and failures the next. That is why Tom's conversation with Justin Nava is important. Justin shares about the importance of having a strategy so that you don't let the failures discourage you from misses in online ministry. Hear more about implementing your online strategy in this conversation here

Digital is a TOOL to FULFILL your Church's Mission.

Many Pastors see Social Media and Online Ministry as a hinderance to "real" ministry. However, it is a great tool to help fulfill your Church's mission. Brady Shearer joins Hector and Sarah to discuss how you can help your Pastor see the value and benefits of online ministry. You can listen to their episode "Using Online Tools for Ethical Growth ft. Brady Shearer" here.

Not all STREAMING PLATFORMS are the same.

One of the most important things you can do with your online ministry is to find the right streaming platform for your Church. But, with so many free and paid options to choose from, how do you know? In "How to Choose a Streaming Platform" episode, Andy Mage and Mark Lutz talk about what you need to take into consideration when you are choosing a platform. You can listen to their episode here.

What do you think? What are other online ministry insights you learned from this past month?  Share your ideas below or on social media.

Through the Digital Church Network we are helping physical and digital churches better understand the discipleship process, and helping churches and church planters understand this and other decentralized mindset shifts. Joining the DCN is free and be encouraged!
