It’s Ladies Night with The Church Digital Podcast. During Season Four of The Church Digital Podcast called "Jesus, Gamers and Church" we are doing a deep dive on Gaming and Nerd Culture, and how churches are aggressively reaching this mission field…
As we’ve talked on the show, there is a lot of opportunities to connect with the gamers on this digital mission field, as there’s close to 3.2 billion gamers active in the world. What may be a surprise to some is the growing percentage of women that are in the gaming world...in 2022 48% of US Gamers were women! Yet, Twitch is a heavily-driven male platform, and what few female streamers there are often deal with male chauvinistic trolls in the audience verbally harassing the streamers on many fronts.
In this Girl Power episode of The Church Digital Podcast, we talk with GodSquad’s Amanda Souza and Asia the Girl, two Twitch Streamers who utilize their influence for the Kingdom. Let’s sit down and better understand what it means to be a woman streamer, and what ministry looks like for them on Twitch.

Amanda has grown up with video games in the house, playing "shared" consoles and games with her siblings. One of her favorite game series is the Legend of Zelda but enjoys many Nintendo games and other RPG games. She also loves anime - "believe it!" Amanda now serves as the Executive and Music Pastor of GodSquad Church. She not only leads worship and all the music ministries, but also oversees the weekly ins and outs of the everyday functions of the church, leads the Women's Ministry, oversees and plans all significant events such as SquadCon, manages Discord servers, and more!
Asia is a Guam native, living in New Albany, IN, with her husband, Luke. She is passionate about creativity, food, relationships, and her island. She is so grateful for how the Lord continues to navigate her life. Growing up on Guam with the family that was given to her and the experiences she had absorbed living on an Asian-Island melting pot of an island, moving to the States for college and now living in the midwest of all places, she is grateful for what she believes is a unique perspective of how people from different cultures and different backgrounds ultimately desire the same thing, yet express it in different ways.
