Community groups are great for any and all types of people. They can be a great place to be encouraged, inspired and challenged. Online Groups have become very popular for people ever since Facebook introduced them in October 2010. Since then people have been connecting with others from all over the world.

Being a Digital and Online Minister is hard word and exhausting. That is why being part of a community can really help and encourage people in digital ministry. Below are 5 online communities that digital and online ministers can check out and be part of.

Digital Bootcamp. This group is a place for everyday ministers to learn and gain a knowledge of all things digital and how it can help your ministry. I lead this group as we invite ministers, volunteers and any other person who seeks to proclaim Christ to learn digital tools to help them reach more people for Christ. This is a learning community for beginners, novice and experts where we seek to encourage and help everyone grow in their digital knowledge, understanding and application. There is also a Digital Ministry Twitter Community I run as well.

Church Digital Fam. The dream of the Church Digital Fam is to empower normal people like you to start a Digital/Meta movement. This is where like minded people gather together seek to take the gospel to all corners around the world by embracing new technology and crossing over new frontiers. Ultimately, it is about reaching the world, one conversation at a time.

Online Jesus. Created by Angela Craig this group offers daily digital ministry tips, resources, trends, encouragement & a little humor. Angela started in online ministry years ago, starting Pursuit Church Live, the first social media church in the Assemblies of God fellowship. This group offers lots of encouragement for online ministers.

Online + Digital Church Leaders. This was the first online ministry community I became part of. This is a community for those who are all in on leading online ministry/church. Whether you are full-time, part-time or a volunteer this is a place for them to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other.

Better on the Inside. Based on the podcast by the same name, this group is led by Jon Pyle. While it is not about digital ministry, it is about mental health. And, if we have learned anything over the past few years it is that our mental health is so important for us. Jon is a great guy and this community is such an encouragement for people helping to grow closer to Christ and be mentally healthy.

Of all the community groups out there, I appreciate the communities for online and digital ministers the most. Online and Digital Ministers are friendly, kind and very encouraging and helpful. If you are not part of these communities, check them out and see which group(s) is a great one for you to be part of.

What do you think? Are you part of one of these communities? If so, what do you love about them? What are some other online communities you can be part of? Share your ideas below or on social media.

Through the Digital Church Network we are helping physical and digital churches better understand the discipleship process, and helping churches and church planters understand this and other decentralized mindset shifts. Joining the DCN is free and be encouraged!
