Podcasting has been around since the early 2000s. It became really popular when Apple released a stand alone app on their iPhones in 2012. Podcasting refers to audio blogging. While it has been around for a long time now, some Churches are still hesitant to adopt to podcasting as a form of communication and encouragement for people in their Church and community.

Why are some Churches still not using audio blogging or podcasting? The answer to this question varies depending on the type of Church you are and the community you serve. Regardless of why not, Anchor.fm, addresses a lot of those with a service that can help any Church overcome that and effectively start podcasting.

So why should Churches use Anchor.fm as their podcasting host?

  1. It's free. There are lots of podcasting hosts out there. However, most of the really good hosts charge. And, the more episodes you post, the more it cost you to store the old episodes. That's not the case with Anchor.fm. With them it is FREE no matter how many episodes you post.
  2. It's easy to use. A lot of hosting sites can be confusing. Anchor.fm makes it easy to upload new podcast episodes, fill in the title and description and then publish. It is a very simple process.
  3. You can easily distribute it to others platforms. You want to get your podcast out to as many platforms as possible. The core ones are Apple, Spotify and Amazon. But, there are more such as Overcast and iHeart Radio. Anchor makes it easy for you to get it out to all those platforms.
  4. It gives you analytics. While they may be basic analytics (total number of listens and which episodes have the most), they are still good enough to know whether or not your Church is being effective

Conclusion

Podcasting is a very effective way to communicate and encourage people in your Church and community. There are a lot of podcasting hosts out there for your Church to utilize. While there may be other platforms that can give you deeper analytics and editing abilities, Anchor.fm is perfect for your Church to start getting into podcasting and share audio content. Even if you are using another podcasting host right now, Anchor.fm gives you easy ways to migrate it over. Try it out and see if it is a right fit for you and your Church.
