Easter Sunday is one of the biggest and most important Church services of the year. That is why you have to make sure you have all your equipment ready and up-to-date. Churches rely heavily on audio and video systems, computer networks, and other tech to support services each Sunday. With Easter Sunday, it's even more important to make sure everything connection, cord and battery is ok. By doing regular tech check-ups before Easter, it allows for potential issues to be caught early before they escalate into larger problems.
So, what are some of key technical elements that your Church should check before Easter services:
Sound System. Test all the microphones, speakers, and audio inputs to ensure they are functioning properly and mixed accordingly. Check them to make sure none are buzzing, humming, or cutting out.
Video. Inspect the video projector for connections, focus and alignment. Cue up any special video elements to play properly on screens accordingly.
Lighting. Program and test special lighting cues, especially for any dramatic Easter productions you have scheduled. Ensure scene transitions are smooth.
Cameras. Clean the video camera lenses and confirm all shots are framed, focused, and properly white balanced.
Internet Connection. Internet connection can make or break your live stream. If you are a portable Church, having great internet is not always a guarantee. That is why you need to verify before Easter Sunday that you have sufficient upload and download speeds to handle the live streaming at heighten capacity.
Batteries. Batteries always go out at the worst, most inopportune time. That is why it's important to check and replace old batteries for wireless mics, in-ear monitors, and other tech requiring portable power. Also, bring plenty of spares.
Volunteers. Make sure all the tech volunteers and operators understand their roles and are prepared to run the tech for Easter worship.
Testing everything ahead of time allows the critical Easter messages and creative elements you have planned to shine without any tech distraction or disruption. Make sure you have consistent tech check-ups and upgrades as needed. They allow your Church and the different ministry to leverage the tools so that your all the great things you have planned for Easter goes off effectively and smoothly. The less disruptions, the more likely people are going to hear about the power and hope of Christ this Easter.
