TEN THINGS YOU WANT YOUR PASTOR TO KNOW ABOUT ONLINE CHURCH

0

We get it. Church Online is a new frontier. It's untapped. It's scary. And it's huge potential for the churches that are willing to take a chance.  So share this primer with your pastor and help your church take some next steps in launching your Online Church.

  1. Online Church isn't Fake News. The lives changed in an online environment are just as valid as what happens at physical locations weekly.
  2. What works in physical locations doesn't always work online. Your typical service at a physical location is awesome in the building. However, 70+ minutes of content online struggles to be engaging to a first-timer or outsider.
  3. Online Church isn't about one-way communication. It's strength is two-way. It's not enough for a church to communicate to the audience through Online Services. Listen to your audience. Engage them through Online Discipleship.
  4. Online Church isn't the end. It's the means to the end. Online Church isn't the long-term solution. It is, however, the on-ramp to long-term discipleship.
  5. Online Church works best not when the church does ministry, but when the church empowers others to do ministry. This is why online discipleship is so important.
  6. Online Church isn't expensive to start, especially compared to cost of the physical locations. And, it will scale quickly and cheaply.
  7. Don't force Online Church to be something that it's not. Allow your Online Church to operate in it's strengths. On any given day, Online Church is complimentary to physical location... it's not in competition with physical locations..
  8. Online Church will never replace meeting at physical locations. It can, however, change the way your meetings at physical locations look.
  9. An effective Online Church is more than good social media. Don't confuse Digital Communications with Digital Missions.
  10. Questions? You're not alone in this trek. Big church or small church, multisite church, single location church or church plant... we can help. Click the button.
